Monument: Palau de les Arts Reina SofíaLocation: Valencia, SpainArchitect: Santiago CalatravaYear:  1995- 2005
The final addition to the ambitious City of Arts and Sciences development elaborates upon Calatrava’s architectural language that is equal parts engineering and poetics. Forms reminiscent of marine biology are prevalent on both the exterior and interior, drawing a relationship to the old riverbed the complex is built on. The interior program consists of four concert halls of various size, ample atrium space, along with all necessary technical facilities. These dissimilar volumes are unified and given an identity by the symmetrical white concrete shell. A metal-clad “feather” hovers over the entire structure supported at only the western end.

This blog is exactly what it says on the tin - architecture and people kissing beer cans infront of them. Go take a look!
